    Aquamarine

With its light blue to blue-green color it’s no wonder aquamarine has long been associated with the sea. Even the stone’s name reflects this association: aqua is the Latin word for “water” and marina means “of the sea.” As seen in the photo above, aquamarine crystals can be very large allowing for the cutting of large flawless gems. The size and abundance of this lovely stone also makes it very desirable for carving.
