What We Do

From watch batteries to custom jewelry design My Jeweler does it all. With nearly 40 years’ experience owner and “Master Goldsmith” Joe Lanning, along with his goldsmith Jeff Kuehl, perform jewelry repair in house instead of having to send it out to a third party. This allows for faster turnaround and lower costs than other jewelry stores whose primary focus is retail sales.

New Jewelry

In addition to jewelry repair and design, we also have an excellent selection of jewelry for sale. Nearly half our inventory consists of estate and consignment pieces. Ranging in price from under a $100 to $10,000 or more we have jewelry to fit any budget. We regularly receive new pieces so you’re bound to see something new each time you visit. If you don’t find exactly what you want we can make whatever modifications you’d like so you can have a piece of jewelry that is uniquely yours.

We have a fine selection of new jewelry to choose from in sterling silver, gold, or platinum, with or without gemstones. If you don’t find what you’d like in our current stock we have many more pieces we can order and have in our store in a matter of days.

Estate Jewelry

Do you have old jewelry you don’t wear? Don’t let it just sit in your jewelry box, we have options for you. We buy jewelry out right for the value of the precious metals and gems. This is a good option to get paid quickly or to get some money for jewelry that needs repair before it can be sold. We also sell jewelry on consignment. Jewelry accepted for consignment must be in good condition and a style we believe might appeal to our customers. You would set the price though we would advise on what we think it will sell for. If a potential buyer would like to make an offer we would pass that along to you to accept or decline. If the item sells we charge a 25% fee. You can make more money selling on consignment but there is no guarantee when, or if, your jewelry will sell.

Wax Molds

If you have jewelry that is you don’t wear but don’t want to give up we can use the metal and stones to custom design and cast a one of a kind piece of jewelry just for you. We have nearly 2,000 wax molds to choose from that can be cast as is or modified to suit your style.

Appraisal

Need to know the value of your jewelry? Both Joe Lanning and his son Chad Lanning are GIA trained gemologists and can provide both written and verbal appraisals at reasonable rates. If you need a written appraisal for insurance purposes it is a good idea to check with your insurance agent first to find out what they require and what kind of coverage they provide. Most insurance covers the replacement value of your jewelry, in case of loss they will replace your jewelry or pay you what it would cost them to replace the jewelry. Though less common, some policies pay the agreed upon value of the jewelry if a loss occurs. It is helpful for us to know which type of coverage you have before evaluating your jewelry.
